Oh my, what a whirlwind of a day! I am soaking up every last second with the family as our trip comes to a close. The sun, the laughs – it’s all been fulfilling my soul 🙂
Today, we rented a boat and took on Lake Tahoe, Vasta family style. After getting on the water, it took us about 10 minutes of relaxation before testing out the tube we rented. (The Vasta’s don’t know how to take much more relaxation than that) My brother and sister designated themselves as the first victims of the tube (and my dad’s driving) and held on for their dear lives while trying to maneuver on the inflated disc bobbing behind our boat.
Once atop, they began to float, bounce and bobble behind us, grunting and giggling like they were little kids again. Mind you, they are both in their late twenties and my brother probably hasn’t shrieked in a long time…
It was such a hilariously simple and innocent experience, and we all were laughing uncontrollably at the entire ordeal. Between my dad’s driving, my mom constantly screaming over the engine to make sure “EVERYONE OKAY?” and the three of us taking turns riding the tube, it was definitely one of my favorite days.
To top it all off, my sister created an amazing boat playlist that had my mom and I dancing at the bow. It doesn’t get any better than that. Some of our favorites were:
- She’s so High – Tal Bachman (remember that one? I’ve been listening to it on repeat!)
- Ain’t No Mountain High Enough –Marvin Gaye (always a classic on our trips)
- We Didn’t Start the Fire – Billy Joel (is it anyone else’s life goal to learn ALL the words?)
- Somebody to Love – Queen (duh!)
