Olivia and Andrew’s sailboat engagement session in NYC couldn’t have been more fitting for their upcoming nuptials. These two are preparing for a coastal chic wedding at The Bohlin in Newport, Rhode Island next spring and wanted to design a session that both celebrated where they are now, as well as, where they’re headed next. Planning a sailboat engagement session was such a joyous occasion to document this special time. 

In our initial conversations, Olivia and Andrew weren’t sure what to expect for their engagement session. We toyed with the idea of traveling to Newport as a precursor to the celebrations to come, but they felt pulled to have their session in New York. After learning a bit about the two of them, it became clear that Olivia was a lover of all things nautical and Andrew admired the city’s architecture and ambiance. Thanks to Manhattan’s unique setting and beautiful variety at every time, we were able to design a session along the water that catered to both of their admirations, as well as, squeeze in a little time to capture the lush florals of Hudson River Park. 

Throughout their sailboat engagement session, Olivia and Andrew were so sweet with each other. It can be a little nerve wracking to have professional photos taken of yourself on land, let alone on the water. We truly embraced the way of the winds during their session and ended up laughing the whole time! These two had such wonderful energy, joyful radiance and support for each other, that it felt like a gift to capture their love.
