Water’s Edge Resort and Spa | Connecticut Weekend Getaway

Every year, my mom, sister and I go on what we like to call a “MAD” weekend. AKA a “Mother and Daughter” weekend. So far we’ve gone to Cape May, Cape Cod, and Montauk together!

This year, we decided to go a little bit closer to home and decided on Water’s Edge Resort + Spa ! It is just about 2 hours northeast of New York City and quite close to the town of Old Saybrook as well. I adore the coast of Connecticut because it’s convenient while also providing a beach getaway. For this New Yorker, it’s so nice to see a change of scenery to feel recharge and refreshed.

Our Weekend’s Activities + Travel Guide

We arrived there on a Thursday evening and grabbed some late dinner at a Tapas bar nearby, Bistro Mediterranean. We kicked off our MAD weekend with cocktails and tapas and the mojito’s were AH-mazing. Mojitos are one of my favorite summer cocktails and it was a perfect way to kick-off spring!

Friday morning we treated ourselves to some luxurious spa appointments at Water’s Edge with massages and pedicures! All of the massage therapists at Water’s Edge are incredibly professional and so so sweet. I highly recommend any of their services!

After that we headed to Clinton Crossing Outlets which were only about a 10 minute drive from the resort. Unfortunately it was pouring that day….BUT it gave us a perfect excuse to shop! Too bad I can’t tell my credit card companies that 😉

That night, and on every Friday and Saturday nights, Water’s Edge has live music! After shopping we headed back to the resort and grabbed dinner in their Seaview Bistro restaurant. Between sips of wine and bites of flatbread, we headed to the dance floor! It was such a perfect way to end the night!

The next morning, the sun was SHINING! The weather was glorious and a perfect chance for us to capture some beach photos! I styled my mom and sister and we headed to the beach! I was so excited to even get just a sneak peek of the summer with sand between my toes.

Next Girls Trip

I can’t wait for our next girls’ adventure! Where should we go next?
