I first walked into the Running Deer Golf Club for Joanna and David’s summer wedding and was instantly taken aback by the beautiful hustle and bustle.
I LOVE weddings.
I love all the moving parts. I love the jittery excitement from the bride and the groom and having the pleasure of meeting all of the people closest to them. I love walking into a reception space that’s still getting some last minute love and imagining how the bride and groom chose to bring everything together for their special day. And I love how at every wedding I photograph, there’s always a moment I’m tearing up behind my camera screen.
This wedding was all of that, and so much more.
Joanna and David went to the same college but didn’t meet until 2 years later at a Young Bible Study Group. Along with her friend, Joanna heard someone refer to their alma mater and her ears perked up! She remembers running over to the group chatting about her small college and was so excited to meet David! When I asked Joanna about how the two of them started dating she said, “everything felt so natural with him and a little over a year later, he proposed!”
These two are so loved. All throughout the day, I felt inklings of all the love their guests shared for them. Between the prayer that David’s dad shared before dinner, to the sweet whispers Joanna shared with her mom before walking down to the aisle, to all of the speeches given by members of their bridal party.
I couldn’t be more excited for these two as they experience the first few weeks of marriage together. Wishing you both nothing but happiness, laughter, and so much love!
