Heyooo, friends! Happy Friday, JR!

You guys know I LOVE engagement sessions. They’re one of my favorite parts of the entire wedding booking process! But that’s only a small part of why I love having an engagement session with my couples before their wedding day! Check out some other reasons below:

1. Test Run, baby!

Standing in front of a camera can be super nerve-wracking. Suddenly your limbs become extra apparent and awkward for no reason at all and you’re hyper aware that someone is documenting every move. I get it, trust me! Whenever I have my photo taken I feel the same way! That’s why I love love love getting my couples in front of my camera before the big day. Not to humiliate you but to shake out all those kinks! I want to help to make you and your soon-t0-be hubs feel good as hell while in front of my camera and make the entire experience as comfortable as possible. Once we really get rolling, you’ll forget me and my camera are even there. Scout’s honor!

It also gives us a chance to work together before your big day! You can observe how I work and make sure we’re really jiving together. You shouldn’t have to worry about a thing on your big day, especially your photographer! If we get to meet and work together before hand, it gives you one less thing to think about. And it gives you extra time to focus on that sweet soulmate of yours and how drop dead gorgeous they’re looking.

2. Strike a Pose

Now, this one isn’t as important because I love creating authentic moments for you and your fiancé. I’m all about the pure emotion you feel for each other and less about the “stand here, do this” sort of thing. But we will chat through some posing ideas and I’ll guide you so those limbs that felt super awkward a minute ago, somehow don’t. And when your wedding day comes, I can recall back to some of the poses you absolutely rocked at during the engagement session so you can kill it one more time!

3. Thnks fr th Mmrs

Especially because these ARE so great! Yeah, I’m punny, you’ll get used to that. But seriously, think about it, this is the only time you’ll be and have a fiancé. Let that sink in a minute. Amidst all the wedding planning and the dress fittings, sit back. You’re a fiancé. You have a fiancé. And in a few short months, you’ll be a Husband or Wife. Having engagement pictures to look back on is so amazing. It captures this special in-between time so you’re able to savor in the giddy, joyfulness forever.

Alright, at the risk of quoting one more song, I’ll sign off for now! Hope you found these 3 reasons for having an engagement session helpful! But as always, if you have any questions or want to get in touch – send me a message here
