Lauren and Nicky met as all New York couples do… in a competitive kickball league. Nick was better at the kickball portion and Lauren excelled in ruthless flip cup competitions that followed each game. As you may have read in my post titled, Meet Francesca, Nicholas is my older brother and twin to my sister, Sarina. 

Nicky and Lauren are, without a doubt, two of the funniest people I know. Lucky for me, Nicky has been making our family laugh since circa 2005. And I say 2005 because pretty sure he and I participated in some severe sibling rivalry prior to then, but what siblings don’t?

When Nicky and Lauren began dating, the hilarity ensued in even more abundance and I love spending time with the two of them. One of my favorite quotes is, “Life is too serious to be so serious.” Think about it, so often we get into our heads and go down a rabbit hole of thoughts about who we are, our futures, our financial standings, our jobs, etc. Right? Just me? Well, either way, spending time with Nicky and Lauren reminds me of this quote and just how important it is to focus on the good, focus on the happy, and to not take ourselves too seriously. What better gift is there than to remind people of all the goodness and fun there can be? That’s who Lauren and Nicky are together. 

Taking portraits of the two of them last weekend warmed my heart. They’re both incredible people and embraced all of the camera time with smiles, laughs, and their inner GQ stares. Not to mention, we were able to capture some solo shots of Lauren that are featured on her blog Pinch of Pink. She is a true fashionista at heart and I am so glad we were able to collaborate!
