To me, engagement sessions are one of the sweetest moments during your engagement. It’s a special time set aside to simply be with the one you love in the most romantic way. It gives you and your fiancé an opportunity to stop thinking about wedding planning and table settings and floral arrangements. But instead, it allows you to focus on the two of you and the marriage that’s ahead of you. These 5 engagement session tips will help you to feel prepared and confident for your session!

5 Tips for Getting the Most out of your Engagement Session

#1) Select a location that you and your fiancé adore! Choosing a location that’s meaningful to you and your relationship will not only help you feel excited and relaxed during your session but it’ll provide you with so many more special memories

#2) Select outfits that make you feel amazing!! P.S. I have a Style Guide for this! But it’s the truth, my style guide goes into detail about what colors and styles are flattering on camera. But truthfully, the best outfit you can wear is the one that makes you jump up and down and dance in the mirror! It’s the one that when you twirl around you go “damnnn I look hot.” That’s the outfit I want you to wear.

#3) Focus on you and your babe. To get the most out of your engagement session, celebrate the fact that you are getting married! Your relationship is so important to me and I love curating the perfect date setting so that you two can simply have the time of your life together while I document you two sweethearts

#4) Schedule your session around the perfect light! Whether that’s sunrise, sunset or even rescheduling for a sunnier day. So often I hear clients say that they love the airy and bright look of my photos. A lot of that has to do with my technique, but even more has to do with the sun! Using light to our favor will help us bring those dreamy images to life that you’re envisioning!

#5) Celebrate this session for what it is! This is the only time you’ll have and be a fiancé. Soak that in and schedule a date night afterwards or bring along some champagne and toast to the two of you!

There is no wrong way to have your engagement session! But I love sharing these details with couples so that they’re truly able to get the most out of their session together! To view more details regarding my engagement session services, head here!
